What
is a travel system?:
A travel system pushchair
is becoming increasingly popular with parents as it a allows to attach
a car seat to their pushchair. The majority of systems now take the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix or the Maxi Cosi Pebble which when combined with an in car base makes getting it right easy.
It can be easier for parents on very short
trips to take the car seat out of the car and click directly onto the
frame of your pushchair. We would add that it is important to try and
remember not to keep your baby in her car seat for long periods at time (we call it the two hour rule where babies should not be in a car seat for more than two hours at a time)..
Young babies need to be able to lie flat and stretch and move to develop
properly. It's also essential to make sure that the car seat in the travel
system fits your car perfectly. If it doesn't, you'd be better off buying
a pushchair and separate car seat which is suitable from birth and stays in the car. A good model would be the Maxi Cosi Opal or the Nania Cosmo SP both of which are suitable from birth to 18 kilos (around 0-4 years). Many of these systems also allow a
pram body or carrycot which is the idea environment for your newborn baby. |
